Partnership with Clyra Medical expands federal access to FDA 510(k)-cleared wound cleansing, irrigation, and debridement powered by Clyrasept™ Copper-Iodine.
GAITHERSBURG, MD, UNITED STATES, September 15, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Spartan Medical Inc., a service-disabled, veteran-owned and U.S.-operated government contractor, today announced the addition of Clyra Medical Technology, LLC’s ViaCLYR™ advanced wound irrigation solution to the Defense Logistics Agency Electronic Catalog (ECAT). Under terms of the agreement, Spartan Medical will be the exclusive purchaser of ViaCLYR™ products from Clyra for resale to Government healthcare facilities, including VA/DoD-operated or -managed facilities, Federal Bureau of Prisons facilities, Indian Health Service facilities, and other federal agency healthcare facilities, as well as certain civilian hospitals operating under VA Community Care/VA-funded contracts.
ViaCLYR is powered by Clyrasept™ Copper-Iodine Complex Solution (CICS) technology – a first-of-its-kind, patent-protected, broad-spectrum antimicrobial designed to deliver optimal performance across the four critical dimensions of wound care and infection management: speed, efficacy, persistence and biocompatibility. ViaCLYR™ has been shown to kill 99.99% of 18 pathogens within one minute of application, including MRSA, VRE, and Candida auris. ViaCLYR™ requires no rinsing and provides persistent 72-hour antimicrobial management without reapplication, while remaining non-cytotoxic. Standard wound care solutions also feature rapid kill times but persist for 60-seconds or less and require regular, repeated reapplication and wound dressing changes.
“Those who serve our country deserve nothing but the best care. We are proud to partner with Spartan to bring our groundbreaking ViaCLYR™ advanced wound care solution to our VA hospitals and government affiliated healthcare facilities everywhere” said Steve Harrison, Chief Executive Officer of Clyra Medical Technologies. “In wound care, seconds count and days matter. Our Copper-Iodine Complex is the only advanced wound care solution that delivers both effectiveness on contact and protection that persists for days, not seconds. For clinicians and their patients, this can mean fewer dressing changes that take time, add costs, and can disrupt the process of healing itself.”
ViaCLYR™ is FDA 510(k)-cleared for cleansing, irrigating, and debriding a wide range of wound types, including first- and second-degree burns, Stage I–IV pressure ulcers, diabetic and stasis ulcers, post-surgical wounds, and abrasions, as well as for moistening and lubricating absorbent wound dressings.
“Across the facilities we proudly serve, wound care and infection control is always a top priority,” said Vince Proffitt, President of Spartan Medical. “With ViaCLYR™ added to our ECAT contract, we can now offer a front-line solution to address this persistent healthcare challenge, priced at parity to standard solutions but delivering clearly superior performance.”
