Guardrail Technologies, the independent AI security and control company, today announced it has closed two seed rounds to date totaling nearly $3 million, led by Filter Fund Venture Capital with participation from strategic angel investors with senior backgrounds at major global technology companies. With Australian operations now up and running, the funding supports expansion into Asia and Europe and staffing across every aspect of operations.
Guardrail Technologies specializes in AI control and security. Organizations see their AI, protect it and stay in control of what it does. As companies in high accountability industries accelerate AI adoption, with agents now holding passwords, permissions and the authority to act, Guardrail provides the visibility, protection and control that lets leadership push AI as fast as the business wants.
Filter Fund was founded by Richard Sussman, whose experience spans partnerships with founders across more than 235 startups collectively valued at over $11 billion. The firm’s current fund holds 22 companies across AI legal technology, AI cybersecurity, AI governance and AI medical technology, and is up 60 percent to date. Sussman serves as Executive Chairman of Guardrail Technologies.
“This funding lets us meet the moment we built for,” said T.J. Marlin, CEO of Guardrail Technologies. “Richard and Filter Fund invested before the market saw the problem, and that early conviction has carried Guardrail to issued patents, government validation and clients on two continents. This capital takes us into Asia and Europe and builds the team across every part of the company.”
“The most important variable in any early-stage company is the person leading it, and T.J. Marlin is exactly the kind of founder I want to back,” said Sussman. “He spent his career leading the post-mortems after the major incidents, understanding what caused them and what went wrong, as head of a Big Four forensic technology practice. His cumulative experience helped to shape his vision for an end-to-end platform for AI security, governance and control, backed by issued patents, an international presence and a growing client base. AI is moving too fast for fragmented tools and traditional governance models. Enterprises need a control layer that evolves at the speed of AI, and we believe Guardrail has built it. When we have conviction, we lean in. As Executive Chairman, I work alongside T.J. and the team to sharpen strategy, open doors and scale the business as fast as the AI market is moving.”
