New multi-use center at 1315 N. El Camino Real offers coworking, training, private offices, and event space on the site of surf visionary Dale Velzy’s legendary surf shop

El Camino Real in San Clemente on Monday, Oct. 14th, 2026. Built for the next generation of professionals, students, entrepreneurs and community members, The Visionary offers a fully integrated space where coworking, skills development and event hosting operate under one roof, supporting each other.

The center’s model is designed so that coworking runs Monday through Friday, training takes place in the event space during daytime and after school hours, and events fill the nights and weekends, allowing the facility to operate at full capacity throughout the week. The space features a curated environment including a professional sound system, premium refreshments, and biophilic design elements throughout.

The building at 1315 N. El Camino Real carries a storied history. The site was once home to surf visionary Dale Velzy, one of the most influential figures in surf history and the founder of one of the first surf shops in the world. Velzy helped finance filmmaker Bruce Brown, whose 1959 surf film “Slippery When Wet” was filmed in part at the location and is credited with helping introduce Southern California surf culture to a global audience.
