Major permitting milestone clears the way for construction of The SPOT, a new sports performance and training facility serving the Lake Travis area.

AUSTIN, TX, UNITED STATES, September 16, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Bauer Investments today announced a major development milestone for The SPOT (Sports Performance Optimization Training), a new sports performance and training facility at 4301 Crawford Road in Spicewood, Texas. Following approximately 18 months of planning, design, engineering, platting, infrastructure work and regulatory review, the project has received the permits necessary to advance into construction.

“This is a significant day for The SPOT and for everyone who has worked to get this project to this point. For the last year and a half, an enormous amount of work has been taking place behind the scenes. Today represents the culmination of that effort and, more importantly, the beginning of the next phase — actually building the vision we set out to create.”

— Mario Bauer, Managing Partner, Bauer Investments

The development process has included civil engineering and drainage, platting, water and well planning, on-site sewage facility design, fire and life-safety coordination, development review, site planning and construction preparation.

“People tend to see a project when the walls start going up, but an incredible amount of work has to happen before you reach that point. We have spent roughly 18 months working through everything from the property and financing to engineering, infrastructure, permitting and construction planning. The SPOT is no longer something we’re simply planning. We’re building it.”

— Christopher Garcia, Chief Investment Officer, Bauer Investments

Built Around Athlete Development

The SPOT is being developed as a dedicated sports performance and training destination serving athletes and families throughout the Lake Travis and surrounding areas. Programming is expected to include baseball, football, speed and agility training, strength and athletic development, and other sports-performance disciplines.

The facility is being designed to combine quality infrastructure, performance technology, specialized programming and experienced coaches, including former professional and collegiate athletes, in an environment focused on athlete development, competition and community.

“This has always been about creating something meaningful for the athletes and families in this community. We have a tremendous sports community here, and our goal is to build a facility that gives athletes a place to train, compete and develop at a high level.”

— Mario Bauer, Managing Partner, Bauer Investments

The SPOT will also introduce a respected local business and sports leader as a partner and brand ambassador, bringing deep ties to the Lake Travis community and more than 30 years of involvement in youth sports. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to athlete development, youth sports and the local community. The identity of the new partner, along with additional details about the role, will be announced as the project moves closer to opening.

From Development to Construction

UrbanBuild, LLC will serve as general contractor and lead construction of The SPOT.

“There is a tremendous amount of coordination required before a project like this reaches construction. Our team has worked alongside ownership, engineers, consultants and other professionals so we’re prepared to execute. Now we get to take everything that has been on paper and turn it into a physical facility built around how athletes train and develop.”

— Jeff Smith, Chief Construction Officer, UrbanBuild, LLC

With permitting achieved, construction activities will move forward as final pre-construction coordination is completed. Additional information will be released as construction progresses, including facility details, training programs, coaching staff, partnerships and opportunities for local teams and athletes.

“For 18 months we’ve been talking about what The SPOT is going to be. A lot of people contributed to reaching this milestone, and we’re grateful for the work that got us here. Now we get to show people.”

— Christopher Garcia, Chief Investment Officer, Bauer Investments
